Macon State Prison Crusade

A Letter to Macon State:

From the ministry's inception, we’ve wanted to establish a prison ministry. Ideally, in a maximum security prison where many won’t journey. During our first year of ministry, we struggled to gain access to prisons. It was proving harder than expected. But when God opens doors, He opens them wide. We eventually get connected to the perfect opportunity: Macon State Prison, a large maximum security prison. This was exactly what we wanted. Additionally, this facility didn’t have a church service for 5 years!! Exciting! This is a moment to make real and lasting change. The mission of our ministry is to establish Heaven on Earth. So the question remains: Can Heaven be established on earth? Even in a prison? We thought so. In addition to preaching the gospel, we were going to have food catered and give away hygiene kits — they were highly requested. We were going to do what we could to bring Heaven into Macon State.

Throughout the preparation process, many people tried to deter us from going, saying we were risking our lives. They said it was too dangerous. They asked, “Do you even know what you’re walking into?” Some even suggested that we may not make it out, and if we did, we may be injured. But they must have forgotten, where others run from, we run to. So here comes P.U.S.H. Ministries International. Here comes Heaven. During our 3-day crusade, we saw many men give or rededicate their lives to Christ. We were met by worship you couldn’t imagine. We were met with love, compassion, and kindness. We thought we were going to change a prison facility, but it turns out, they changed us. The stories we heard, the men we met, and the time we shared will forever mark us. They’re not what you think; they’re people just like you. We saw great light in a place that was supposed to be darkness. We will never be the same. We can’t be. We’re forever marked.

The story I’ll tell is that I met men freer than me. Thank you, Macon State! We love you. We owe you. We’ll always remember you. We’ll be back ❤️.
